ABOUT COLLEGE

The Govt. College Ani is a countryside college situated in the pristine beauty of nature at place Haripur which is 7k.m. from Ani, the prominent tehsil headquater of this area in district Kullu popularly known as outer Seraj. It came into being in June 17, 2006 with tireless efforts of the local people under leadership of octogenarian social worker Late Sh. Hari Ram. The college complex is spread over an area of nearly 23.6 bighas of land donated by the villagers who were keen on bringing a transformation through education in this remote locality of the state. The college building is beautifully architecturally designed in the background of hill landscape and the college shifted in the present campus in August, 2012.

The college is co-educational institution duly affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh University Shimla. Initially the Arts stream was started from the academic session 2006 – 07. The commerce faculty has been introduced from the session 2014 – 15 and science faculty has started its functioning from the session 2016 – 17. The number of students is increasing every year because of the good infrastructural facilities, remarkable teaching standard and amiable environment of the institute where they get an opportunity for all round development. ...

I extend a hearty welcome to you for joining this reputed institute. Govt. Degree College Ani at Haripur, Distt. Kullu, Himachal Pradesh ,was established on twenty seventh June two thousand six. We are obliged to the efforts of Late Sh. Hari Ram ji and the people of this area to bring in an institute of higher education especially for the girls and underprivileged students. Today our college is progressing by leap and bounds with well equipped libraries, IT and science labs, language labs, offering UG courses in Humanities, Science and Commerce. Under Utkrist Mahavidyalaya Yojana College has enhanced its sports and academic infrastructure to compete with world class facilities. Though the advancements in technology and the use of Information and Computer Technology (ICT) in the classrooms can enable us to learn new skills yet we must consolidate our traditional cultural values and knowledge systems. In view of this we have adopted “Academic and Cultural Leadership” and “Capacity Building of Students” as one of the “Institutional Best Practices”. We seek to develop an immersive atmosphere in the College for students to celebrate our culture and tradition. I m pleased to be a part of this serene and solitary environment of this great educational institute.
